At Music in Nature, Miss Tweetie uses sensory activities to reinforce a sense of confidence in your children.
Miss Tweetie combines 20 years of experience developing early childhood music education with her lifelong passion for being outdoors in all seasons.
Music, Nature and the Brain
The early study of music is proven to increase children’s long-term brainpower, and being outdoors has shown to increase the brain’s capacity for learning.
Why is resiliency in children so important?
Our children need to learn that we can fear falling and still go for it. And when we DO fall, once we've been comforted, dried our tears and shaken ourselves off, we can get back up and try again. This will help us throughout our lives because there are always times we get knocked down unexpectedly. Of course, at Music in Nature, Miss Tweetie's students don't do much falling, of course. But she does encourage children to try different activities that teach balance and coordination.
Here you'll see Miss Tweetie a.k.a. Margaret Dahlberg talking about Music in Nature (5:24) while being zany of course. . .

WATCH THE VIDEO FOR DIRECTIONS:
Under 12 months approximately: Our littlest ones will learning by watching and moving around with their grown-up. The more the grown-up sings and participates, the more they experience the music. However, they learn a lot by observing. Being outside and immersing them in nature is highly valuable!
12-24 months approximately: These toddlers will need a little extra help with some of the movement. They will not likely follow the actions as much as observe and explore the area. When their grown-ups sing and participate, they are stimulated by the music no matter what they are doing.
2-3 year olds approximately: These newly independent students will enjoy walking and running with the group. This is personality dependent, because some children ultimately prefer to observe, which just as effective! The grown-ups attending with them may need to help them with some jumping and climbing as well.
3 years and up: These pre-schoolers will be able to do most of our activities, if they want to. Grown-ups are invited to join in and sing along as their models but they will likely do so as well. At this age, their behaviour and response is personality dependent. Some children ultimately prefer to observe, especially at first, which just as effective!
Together we will custom design your outdoor birthday party extravaganza to celebrate your little one! Includes a MissT bird Gift (see below)
*group rate for up to 3 children, then $5 per additional child
